Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to make a submission to this journal. All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of this journal. Those considered to be a good fit will be sent for peer review before determining whether they will be accepted or rejected.

Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included with the submission, such as photos, documents and datasets. All authors identified on the submission must consent to be identified as an author. Where appropriate, research should be approved by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study's country.

An editor may desk reject a submission if it does not meet minimum standards of quality. Before submitting, please ensure that the study design and research argument are structured and articulated properly. The title should be concise and the abstract should be able to stand on its own. This will increase the likelihood of reviewers agreeing to review the paper. When you're satisfied that your submission meets this standard, please follow the checklist below to prepare your submission.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.

Accesso collects personal information through various means to facilitate scholarly publishing and improve our services: Information You Provide Directly:

  • For Authors: When submitting a manuscript, we collect details such as your name, email address, postal address, phone number, institutional affiliation, ORCID iD, optional biographical information, and manuscript content (which may include personal data of research participants if not fully anonymized).
  • For Peer Reviewers: Upon agreeing to review a manuscript, we collect your name, email address, institutional affiliation, expertise, ORCID iD, and peer review reports.

  • For Readers and General Users: If you register an account on our Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform (e.g., to receive notifications or manage submissions/reviews), we store your name, username, email address, and affiliation. If you contact us directly (e.g., via email), we retain your contact details and correspondence.

Automatically Collected Information:

  • Log Data: Like most websites, our servers automatically record technical details ("Log Data") generated by your use of our services. This may include your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring pages, visited pages, approximate location (if enabled), mobile carrier, device information, search terms, and cookie data.

  • Cookies: We use cookies to ensure proper website functionality, enhance user experience, and gather anonymized usage statistics.

 

  1.  How We Use Your Information

We process your personal data for the following purposes:

  • Scholarly Publishing: Facilitating manuscript submission, peer review, editorial decisions, editing, production, and article publication.

  • Communication: Contacting authors, reviewers, editors, and readers regarding manuscript status, review requests, editorial decisions, journal updates, and responses to inquiries.

  • Website Operation & Improvement: Maintaining, securing, and optimizing our journal website, OJS platform, and related services; personalizing user experience (e.g., remembering login details).

  • Notifications: Sending alerts, newsletters, or other information to users who opt in.

  • Record-Keeping & Archiving: Maintaining internal records for journal operations and preserving the integrity of scholarly works (e.g., via Portico and PKP Preservation Network).

  • Legal Compliance: Fulfilling legal obligations, court orders, or government regulations; protecting the rights, property, or safety of Accesso, Rancak Publik, our users, or the public.

  • Statistical Analysis: Generating anonymized/aggregate data on journal usage, submission trends, and readership to enhance our services.

  • Contractual necessity (e.g., processing submissions and publishing accepted articles).

  • Legitimate interests (e.g., journal operations, peer review, or essential communications).

We are committed to confidentiality, except in these cases:

  • Published Articles: Author names, affiliations, and corresponding emails are published for proper attribution. ORCID iDs are included if provided.

  • Peer Review: Our double-blind system protects the anonymity of authors and reviewers. Reviewer identities are disclosed only with written consent.

  • Service Providers: Data may be shared with third parties (e.g., hosting by Rancak Publik, plagiarism screening via Turnitin, DOI registration via CrossRef, or archiving via Portico). These parties are contractually bound to protect your data.

  • Indexing Services: Article metadata (including author names and abstracts) is shared with indexing databases to improve discoverability.

  • Legal Requirements: Data may be disclosed if legally mandated or to protect public safety.

  • Publisher (Rancak Publik): Authorized personnel may process data for journal administration or financial oversight.

Accesso does not sell, rent, or lease personal data to third parties for marketing purposes.

  1. Data Security

We implement technical and organizational measures to safeguard your data against unauthorized access, alteration, or loss. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

  1. Data Retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes stated herein, to uphold scholarly records, or to comply with legal obligations (e.g., archiving under our Preservation Policy). Published articles are stored indefinitely; rejected manuscripts or inactive accounts are managed per our retention schedule.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or request deletion of your data.

  • Restrict or object to data processing.

  • Request data portability.

  • Withdraw consent (where processing is consent-based).
