Archiving Policy
Introduction
Accesso Journal is committed to the long-term preservation and permanent accessibility of the scholarly research it publishes. We recognize the importance of maintaining a complete and enduring record of academic contributions for future researchers, historians, and the public. This policy outlines the measures taken by Accesso Journal and its publisher to ensure the continued availability of our published content.
Description
Digital archiving in scholarly publishing refers to the set of processes and activities that ensure information of enduring value is identified, preserved, and made available to users over time, regardless of technological changes or the lifespan of the original publishing platform. The primary goals of Accesso Journal's archiving strategy are:
-
To ensure permanent and uninterrupted access to all published scholarly articles.
-
To protect the intellectual output of Accesso Journal from loss due to technical failure, natural disaster, or the cessation of the journal's operations.
-
To maintain the usability, authenticity, and integrity of the archived content.
Policy
Accesso Journal employs a multi-faceted approach to ensure the long-term preservation and accessibility of its content:
-
Publisher-Managed Archiving and Website Access:
-
All articles published in Accesso Journal are permanently and freely accessible on the official journal website.
-
The website and its content are regularly backed up as part of the IT infrastructure and data management policies of Yayasan Rancak Publik.
-
Third-Party Digital Preservation Services:
-
Accesso Journal ensures the long-term preservation of published content through robust and internationally recognized digital archiving services:
-
Portico: Accesso Journal [participates in the Portico digital preservation service. This service is facilitated through an agreement between Yayasan Rancak Publik and Portico, ensuring that the complete catalog of Accesso Journal's published articles is securely archived and will be available to academics, researchers, and students in the future should the journal cease to be available through Yayasan Rancak Publik or its own platform.]{.mark}

The PKP PN provides free, decentralized, and distributed preservation, further safeguarding Accesso Journal's content by ensuring copies are stored across multiple member libraries within the network.
-
These measures ensure that Accesso Journal's content remains accessible and preserved under various contingency scenarios.
-
Author Self-Archiving (Green Open Access):
-
Accesso Journal, as an open access journal publishing articles under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0) license, permits and actively encourages authors to archive and share their work to maximize its visibility and impact.
-
Authors may self-archive the following versions of their article:
-
Submitted Version (Preprint): Authors are permitted to deposit the submitted version (preprint) on personal websites, institutional repositories, or recognized non-commercial preprint servers (e.g., arXiv, INA-Rxiv, OSF Preprints) at any time.
-
Accepted Manuscript (Author's Accepted Manuscript - AAM / Postprint): Authors are permitted to deposit their AAM (the version accepted for publication after peer review but before copyediting, typesetting, and formatting) in institutional repositories, subject-specific repositories, or on their personal websites immediately upon acceptance, under the terms of the CC BY-NC-SA license.
-
Published Version (Version of Record - VoR): Authors are permitted to deposit the final published PDF (VoR) of their article immediately upon publication on personal websites, institutional repositories, ResearchGate, Academia.edu, or other non-commercial platforms, under the terms of the CC BY-NC-SA license.
-
When self-archiving any version, authors must provide a full citation to the original publication in Accesso Journal and include a link to the published article on the Accesso Journal website using its Digital Object Identifier (DOI). The terms of the CC BY-NC-SA license must also be respected and clearly stated.
-

-
All articles published in Accesso Journal are assigned a unique and persistent Digital Object Identifier (DOI). The DOI ensures reliable and continuous access to the article's location on the internet, even if the journal website's URL structure changes. Yayasan Rancak Publik supports the procurement of DOIs for Accesso Journal.
-
Metadata Harvesting:
-
Accesso Journal supports and permits the harvesting of its articles' metadata by indexing services, abstract databases, libraries, and other scholarly search tools (e.g., via OAI-PMH). This enhances the discoverability and accessibility of Accesso Journal's content.
-
Succession Plan / Cessation of Publication:
-
If Accesso Journal ceases publication, Yayasan Rancak Publik, as the publisher, will take all necessary steps to ensure the preservation and accessibility of all previously published content. This includes ensuring content remains available through Portico, the PKP Preservation Network, and/or the institutional repository of Yayasan Rancak Publik. Authors and readers will be informed of the transition.
